10 Most Unusual Demands By James Bond Actors

9. 10% Of Goldfinger's Box Office Earnings - Gert Fröbe

Gert Fröbe gave an iconic, unforgettable performance in Goldfinger as the titular villain, though the producers were initially hoping the great Orson Welles might take the part to no avail.

Despite being nowhere near as high-profile an actor as Welles, Fröbe decided to shoot his shot and make a frankly ridiculous ask of Bond producers.

Fröbe's salary negotiations went back and forth, with the actor eventually insisting that he be paid 10% of the movie's box office earnings.

With Goldfinger raking in $125 million worldwide, that would've amounted to a tidy $12.5 million.

Given that even star Sean Connery reportedly earned "just" $500,000 for his turn as Bond, it was naturally an absurd request and one which was flatly turned down.

Fröbe's ultimate salary has never been publicly disclosed, though one suspects this was very much a case of the actor adhering to the business principle of "Don't ask, don't get."

It was worth a try despite being an astronomical long shot, right?
