3. Avengers: Infinity War Trailer #1 – 230 Million Views
The first preview of the first part conclusion of the first stage of the MCU, promising its arrival to theatres on May 4th 2018, broke all the records at the time. What Disney called ‘An unprecedented cinematic journey 10 years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe’, Infinity War garnered millions of viewers to see a preview of the epic superhero showdown.
There was extreme interest in wanting to know the fate of certain Avengers, with the trailer gaining more viewers than previous Marvel Studios’ record holders with Thor: Ragnarok at 136 million and Captain America: Civil War with 94.7 million. It was propelled to essential viewing from its hugely famous cast including Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth.
It brought together for the first time characters from several movies in the franchise, what fans had been clamouring for years, with Thor meeting the Guardians of the Galaxy. It was also our first showing of Thanos coming to Earth to collect the Infinity Stones. Those coupled together with images of a broken down Asgard, Thanos clenching the Infinity Gauntlet and the massive stakes of everything on the line in the MCU made it one of the most critically acclaimed trailers of all time.
