10 Most WTF Movies Currently In Production
5. Dear David
We're already living in the cultural era in which movies have literally been based on mobile app games, creepypastas and memes, so it's not at all surprising that we'd eventually move on to a place where film-makers are turning to Twitter threads for inspiration.
That's where we are with Dear David, the upcoming movie adaptation of one of the most terrifying Twitter threads of all time as posted by Adam Ellis. It was a slow-burner, but incredibly compelling, detailing a haunting that began with dreams and included video evidence of poltergeist behaviour in his apartment and culminated in murky shots of the ghost - Dear David - himself, head caved in and proud as punch.
Whether it was real or a stunt for publicity remains to be seen (it doesn't matter in the question of whether it was interesting), but the fact that it's going to be a movie is just odd. Particularly if it does turn out Ellis was just getting attention for his web comics. Fair play to him though.
