10 Mouth-Watering Movies Stuck In Development Hell

8. Everything Guillermo Del Toro Wants To Make

at the mountains of madness There is not a director in Hollywood who has more interesting projects on the go than Guillermo Del Toro. Sadly, he has a consistent track record of failing to get studios to back him on them. One such project is At The Mountains of Madness, based off the H.P Lovecraft novel. Del Toro's adaptation came closest to getting off the ground a few years back but was eventually rejected by the studio for its lack of commercial potential compared to the budget it needed. Del Toro is also said to be involved with a Frankenstein reboot, a live-action Pinocchio, a horror film called Crimson Peaks, a third Hellboy film, a Van Helsing and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde movie, and many, many others. Besides those projects, it would also have been really interesting to see what Del Toro would have done if he had stayed on as director of The Hobbit as he is one of the most unique directors working in Hollywood right now.

I love movies, literature, history, music and the NBA. I love all things nerdy including but not limited to Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, and Firefly. My artistic idols are Dylan, Dostoevsky, and Malick and my goal in life is to become like Bernard Black from Black Books. When I die, I hope to turn into the space baby from 2001: A Space Odyssey.
