10. Robert Pattinson As Batman - The Batman

There are few roles as sought-after and passionately debated as Batman, and to their credit, Warner Bros. has had a habit of casting fairly left-field actors to play the Caped Crusader on the big screen.

But perhaps even more surprising than Michael Keaton or Ben Affleck donning the cape and cowl is the recent announcement that Robert Pattinson will be playing The Dark Knight in Matt Reeves' upcoming The Batman.

For starters, Pattinson's more slender physique doesn't really fit what most fans expect from the brooding, muscled superhero, and given how vocally the actor rubbished his Twilight movies, he seemed primed to spend the rest of his career working on smaller films instead.

But Pattinson also has all the acting talent in the world and has proven himself a wonderfully versatile performer in his post-Twilight career, so there's no doubt whatsoever that he'll pull this off.

He'll surely give us a very different Bruce Wayne and Batman from what we've seen before, and that's no bad thing if fans can simply be open-minded (a difficult ask, perhaps).
