Though he was a member of the UK's National Diving Squad for over a decade, don't let that trick you into thinking Jason Statham is anything other than the tough hard-man he plays in every single film he has ever acted in. Again, not that we're complaining; The Stath is pretty much the only bankable young action star left standing, given that the resurgent likes of Arnie, Stallone and Van Damme aren't the physically able types they were two decades ago. Very occasionally, Statham will demonstrate more range than expected, such as showing sensitivity as he protects a young girl in Safe, but remember that this is a baby step within a clearly-defined genre, and that overall, he's still the same character through and through.
