You might not have even got wind of this project yet, given that there hasn't been much news about it. Still, the filmic adaptation of The Six Million Dollar Man, The Six Billion Dollar Man (you have to adjust for inflation), is on its way, apparently - another in a long line of TV shows turned into films for no good reason (The A-Team, Dark Shadows... the list goes on!).

If you're unfamiliar with the property, The Six Million Dollar Man was a popular TV show from the '70s about a man who receives bionic implants and becomes a secret agent. Imagine what you could do with six billion dollars!

The adaptation, scheduled for release in 2017, is almost certainly destined to fail based on three principles: 1) the concept is a bit rubbish; 2) the TV show is a cult classic, and so should never be adapted for film; 3) Mark Wahlberg is the lead actor.

The Six Billion Dollar Man, starring Mark Wahlberg. You just know - no matter what - exactly how this is going to turn out, 'cause you've cast Mark Wahlberg in the lead role. And so this is set to fall in line with every other forgettable Mark Wahlberg actioner ever made, all of which continue to give bargain bins a reason to exist.
