10 Movie And TV Spoilers We Didn’t Know Last Week (July 28th)

7. X-Men: Apocalypse Historical Context

Though it was clear he was trying to keep X-Men: Apocalypse off the menu at Comic-Con, screenwriter-producer Simon Kinberg still managed to let slip some intriguing details about the forthcoming superhero movie. Kinberg did note that many of the details about the 2016 project are yet to be confirmed but he still stated that €œthere will be Four Horsemen I can tell you that.€ Kinberg also revealed that the next X-Men film would likely return to the series€™ tendency of tying itself into historical events:
€œI don't want to get too specific. We love the alternate history thing. It started in First Class with the Cuban Missile Crisis. It's something that we picked up on with the JFK back-story for Days of Future Past. It's something as a writer that I've always loved and I know it's something Lauren Shuler Donner, the other producer and Bryan Singer loves. So, we will take advantage of the historical context of the 80's.€
It€™s anyone€™s guess which historical events from the 1980s we can expect to see but it€™s certainly a well-received announcement that Apocalypse will continue this compelling trend.
