5. The Rock To Play Shazam
The ex-professional wrestler who seems to have his fingers in a copious number of action-movie-pies last week all but revealed that he would be playing DC Comics Shazam in a forthcoming movie. The Rock has been linked with the character since January but when he took to twitter to send out this unambiguous message it seemed clear that he will soon be donning the red and gold garb of Shazam. Until we hear official word from Warner Bros. fans should refrain from getting excited but given how The Rock has, on more than one occasion, proven himself to be a box-office superstar we can only assume that the announcement from the studio is around the corner. Interestingly, The Rock had previously been linked to another project involving Shazam where he was rumoured to be playing Black Adam Shazams nemesis pictured fighting him above. The fact that Dwayne Johnson has now been promoted to the role of Shazam reflects the enormous success he has had in Hollywood in recent times.
