10. Mother Black Cap - Withnail And I
If you like a drink to the degree that Withnail and his room mate/friend Marwood do then you've probably been to a few pubs in your time. You also probably don't care about the quality of the place too much as long as the beer is cheap and it flows all night. But even Withnail (Richard E. Grant) and his cohort are taken aback by how unfriendly the regulars are in The Mother Black Cap. Popping in for a couple while they try to sort out their miserable, failing lives the two men are intimidated and threatened by a local who takes exception to their sudden appearance. He also takes umbrage to one of them smelling like a "perfumed ponce" which is only made worse when Withnail dares to ask "What f****r said that?". It's a classic scene in a horrible establishment. Remember dear pub crawler if you ever enter anywhere that has "I f**k arses" scribbled on the toilet wall it's probably a good sign that you need to leave. Unless you like that sort of thing of course.
