10 Movie Cameos So Well-Hidden Everybody Missed Them

Barely a single MCU project goes by without a cameo or two, and while we all love seeing familiar faces like Stan Lee, Matt Damon, and John Krasinski, there are plenty more cameos throughout the franchise that you probably haven't noticed.

One of the most overlooked of these involves writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. Their names aren't exactly well-known but they've been with the MCU from the very beginning, having penned Thor: The Dark World, the entire Captain America trilogy, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.

This dynamic duo made the jump from script to screen in 2014's Captain America: The Winter Soldier, in a rather sneaky cameo that saw them play a pair of SHIELD agents who are interrogating Batroc (1:36 in the clip below).

Because they only have around five seconds of screen time (consisting of grainy CCTV footage, no less), it's difficult to make them out even if you know what Markus and McFeely look like. And for the vast majority of viewers who aren't so familiar with the MCU's behind-camera talent, the cameo will simply go right over their heads.

McFeely - sans Markus - later had another well-hidden cameo in Infinity War, where he again played an agent lurking in the background, working with Thaddeus Ross.

Could this be the same character, who was promoted from lowly interrogator to one of General Ross' most trusted advisors? Considering that McFeely wrote both of these movies, we wouldn't be surprised if he gave his character a career bump!

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
