The Marvel Cinematic Universe may have elevated the post-credits scene to an artform in its own right, but Fast and Furious 6 still boasts one of the most crowd-pleasing and unexpected credit tags in cinema history.

In the middle of the credits, the series' topsy-turvy timeline is finally resolved, as we circle back to the events of the third film, Tokyo Drift, where Han (Sung Kang) is killed in a car crash.

But this time, the identity of his murderer is revealed - it's Jason freakin' Statham. Though we don't know who The Stath is playing at this point, his brief voicemail message for Dominic Toretto - "You don't know me, but, you're about to" - makes it clear he's got major beef.

While there's practically nothing the series could do to surprise fans anymore, the introduction of one of the most popular and bankable action stars on the planet caught everyone off-guard, and the sequels delivered by satisfyingly inserting Statham into the heaving ensemble.
