10 Movie Cameos That Were Total Accidents

8. Identity Thief - Ben Falcone

There are many opportunities presented to you by virtue of being married to a Hollywood success. Melissa McCarthy, who starred in the lead of Ben Falcone’s first movie Tammy, has invited her husband onto many film sets, sometimes as a last-minute addition.

Falcone has said in interviews that he's usually the designated parent whilst McCarthy works her long hours filming, soo getting to step into a character and work alongside adults is a relief compared to the hours of babysitting. Thankfully, he often excels in these miniature moments.

In Identity Thief, Falcone plays a hotel clerk who has to stand by as McCarthy and Jason Bateman’s characters try to one-up each other with some pretty vicious insults. Falcone’s reactionary expressions and remarks give the scene that little bit of extra spice.

Falcone has said that cameos like this only happen because the whole family travels with McCarthy for her work and, in this particular instance, director Seth Gordon invited him on set.

Whilst it’s nice that he supports his wife and gets to stretch his acting muscles, he might want to reconsider the idea of being associated with films like Identity Thief that get less than 20% on Rotten Tomatoes.
