2. Jack Sparrow's Shrunken Mum Head - On Stranger Tides

Jack Sparrow Pirates of the Caribbean
Disney

Let's face it, the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise gets away with an awful lot for a series under the Disney banner. Between mass hangings and a number of gnarly deaths at sea, the films have never shied away from the cutthroat life of the titular Pirates clogging up the waters.

Yet, one of the more disturbing moments in the features came during a throwaway gag in At World's End. Upon Captain Jack Sparrow meeting back up with his father, Captain Teague, for the first time in a spell, the latter revealed that Jack's mother resided by Teague's side as a shrunken head. She looks great, though.

Clearly holding this parting gift from his paps very close to his heart - figuratively that is - Jack's mother can later be seen dangling from the side of his waist during the At World's End follow-up On Stranger Tides. She wasn't spotted in Dead Men Tell No Tales, however, suggesting that the slippery Captain either sold her off or misplaced his poor ol' mother along the way.
