5. Odin - Thor Ragnarok
There had been a question over Odin's fate since the end of Thor: The Dark World with Loki revealed to be on the throne. The Allfather was one of the most powerful beings in the entire universe, and was extremely influential in Thor's development.
Not only did his death allow Hela to come forth from banishment to challenge the Asgardian throne, it left Thor totally self reliant and without direction or guidance. He was king whether he was ready or not, dropped completely and utterley in the deep end against his sister.
Odin's death scene is really quite special for a number of reasons. The Allfather's dignified acceptance of his fate, Loki's reaction to the thought of Frigga being proud of him, and the sheer beauty of the Norweigan backdrop all made this one of the most powerful scenes, not only from Ragnarok, but from the entire Thor series.
Thankfully, this came after we had the chance to see Anthony Hopkins play Loki playing Odin, in what is quite possibly the actor's finest work in the MCU.
