Sometimes it can be difficult to come up with the perfect flaw for your character, and this is particularly troublesome when that character happens to be a near-immortal superhero. Usually you can get by with something as simple as Batman, wherein his lack of superpowers means that for all his cunning, you can do an enormous amount of damage to him simply by beating him up. But sometimes people drop the ball, and that it most definitely the case with Wonder Woman, whose ridiculous weakness was once revealed to be being tied up by a member of the opposite sex. Without flatly accusing creator William Moulton Marston of sexism, it seems extremely suspect that a woman of Superman-type abilities is rendered entirely normal, simply from being tied up by a man. Not only is it offensively ludicrous or indeed ludicrously offensive, but it immediately suggests that for all her superpowers, Wonder Woman is still just a woman, and can therefore be easily beaten by a man. The very thought is cringe-worthy and uncomfortable. Hopefully, this particular character quirk will be left out once we see Wonder Woman in the upcoming Man Of Steel sequel.
