Bohemian Rhapsody was a well-regarded glam rock hit in danger of fading into obscurity. That was before Mike Myers and Dana Carvey belted it out during a car journey in 1992's Wayne's World. Myers' Wayne often promoted music on his half-arsed cable channel broadcasts, so this was par for the course. He also had a habit of speaking to the audience when the cameras were off on the show-within-a-film. Young, dumb and a little bit paunchy, Campbell gushed enthusiastically about his life, despite being your common or garden teenager. Annoyingly not many teenagers got to cop off with Tia Carrere, a fact which made him especially aggravating into the bargain. Every so often buddy Garth (Carvey) would participate in the self-referential antics, but on the whole this was Wayne's show. Myers attempt at another character who understood his role as a character in a story came unstuck when he encased himself in latex for lacklustre Dr. Seuss translation The Cat In The Hat.
