8. The Whole Gang - Oceans Twelve
The second in Steven Soderbergh's Ocean's trilogy sees the return of the star-studded cast, including Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts and George Clooney, to the screen as they face the task of paying back the cash they stole from the first movie. The heist goes well in the beginning and everything appears to be running smoothly, but events take a turn for the worse and the gang are accidentally tipped off to Europol Detective Isabel Lahiri (Catherine Zeta-Jones). Handed over to the FBI it seems painfully clear that their criminal enterprise is about to come to a hasty end. Unless, of course, the mother of one of the crew just happens to be the FBI agent heading the investigation, which is exactly what happens here. The first member of the gang to be interrogated, Linus Caldwell (Matt Damon) just happens to be the agent's son, and she swiftly releases them all without charge. Convenient, huh?
