10 Movie Characters That Got Happy Endings They Did Not Deserve

9. Andie & Ben - How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days

Whiplash JK Simmons

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days may be something of an iconic rom-com starring one hell of a power duo in Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey, but it suffers from a huge problem when it comes to its characters. Namely, there isn't a likeable one in sight.

The story followed Andie Anderson (Hudson) and Ben Barry (McConaughey), as they embarked on a new relationship with each other, only both to have ulterior motives. She was writing an article on how to lose a guy in ten days, and was trying to get him to break up with her within the allotted time, while he was trying to prove that he could make any woman fall in love with him for the name of winning an ad campaign at work.

The point is, they both manipulated each other in an attempt to further their own careers without for one second thinking how it may have affected the other.

Of course, because it's a rom-com, they ended up together and happy in the end, apparently both forgetting how horrible a person they each must be to engage in the initial deceit and charade in the first place.
