Killing someone based on the instructions written on the bottom of a Polaroid photo is a risky business. It's a risky business, especially when you can't remember having done the deed. It's a risky business, when you kill the one guy that's supposedly helping you on your fruitless revenge quest - keeping you out of the arms of the law. Let's face it, with Teddy gone, it would only be a matter of time before Leonard Shelby locates his next John G and finds himself with no one to clean up the mess he leaves behind. Not that he'll care. He'll have forgotten by the time he's been taken from his Motel Room to the back seat of a police car.
