10 Movie Characters Who Had To Kill Themselves To Win

Jordan Peele's recent horror smash revolves around a family, the Wilsons, who find their holiday home invaded by a quartet of doppelgängers dressed in red robes, referred to as "the Tethered."

Over the course of the film, the Wilsons are forced to battle their doubles, ultimately killing them in order to survive. Father Gabe (Winston Duke) manages to kill his double, Abraham, by slicing him up with his boat's motor, daughter Zora (Shahadi Wright Joseph) commandeers the family car and kills her Tethered self, Umbrae, by flinging her into a tree, and son Jason (Evan Alex) tricks Pluto into walking backwards into a flaming car wreck.

As for protagonist Adelaide (Lupita Nyong'o)? She battles Red at the very end of the movie, eventually stabbing and choking her to death, seeming to bring the family's nightmare to a close.

Except, of course, the final scene reveals that Adelaide was really Red all along, having switched places during their initial childhood encounter at the funhouse.

As such, the seemingly villainous "Red" was really Adelaide, who was seeking revenge against the real Red for replacing her above ground. Trippy.
