The Spierig Brothers' cult classic sci-fi film is one hell of a mind-bender, as a time-travelling agent (Ethan Hawke) attempts to stop a terrorist known as the Fizzle Bomber.

Long story short, the agent discovers at the end of the movie that the Fizzle Bomber is in fact a future version of himself who has been driven insane by the effects of prolonged time travel.

The agent confronts his future self at a laundromat, where the Fizzle Bomber declares his life must be spared in order to prevent the agent becoming the Fizzle Bomber in the future. However, the agent insists the future isn't set and shoots him dead anyway.

It's fair to say that Predestination toys with typical notions of both identity and morality - what with the end of the movie revealing that the four central characters are all the same person - such that the audience is left to decide whether the agent really "won" or not.

Before we unfurl our final entry, if you haven't seen Avengers: Endgame yet, SPOILERS WILL FOLLOW...
