Both Iron Man and Captain America have saved the world more times than you can count, with Tony Stark sacrificing himself for the Universe with a click of his fingers during the latest instalment in the Marvel franchise.

Despite this sacrifice, it must still be noted that both individuals break many laws in relation to vigilantism and operating as individual entities exempt from government scrutiny, at least until the Sokovia Accords are put in place.

This may not be a true piece of enforceable legislation, but New York’s Anti Masking laws are.

Both Tony Stark and Steve Rodgers are in direct violation of section 240.35(4) of New York’s Penal Law. This makes it illegal for both individuals to be together when their identities are masked. Although, you’d be hard-pressed to find an individual willing to take this infraction up with either of them.
