Community's Jeff Winger may think he's nothing like his frenemy Pierce Hawthorne, but the two have more in common than they might think. In the 2018 Netflix film a Futile and Stupid Gesture, which tells the story of comedy writer Doug Kenny, Jeff's actor Joel McHale appears as one of Kenny's real life friends, Chevy Chase.

Chase's body of work includes Vacation, Caddyshack, and Community, on which he played Pierce for four seasons.

Chase also appeared in the first ever Saturday Night Live cast, acting as himself in the weekend update segment. So, technically, both Joel McHale and Chevy Chase have played Chevy Chase.
