10 Movie Co-Stars Who Shared Iconic Roles
9. Marlon Brando And Robert De Niro - Don Vito Corleone
Don Vito Corleone, alongside the Joker, is one of two characters to win Oscars for two different actors. In the first Godfather film, Marlon Brando made the role his own, dominating every scene, and in the second, Robert De Niro expanded upon it. However, the pair never overlapped in Frances Ford Coppola's trilogy, with Brando sitting out of The Godfather Part II entirely.
Years later, Brando and De Niro finally shared the screen in the 2001 film The Score, which happened to be Brando's final film. Directed by Frank Oz (of Yoda fame), the film is, much like the Godfather trilogy, a crime drama about ageing, so the two Don Vitos ultimately appear in a Godfather-like film together.
