There's no denying the iconic appeal of William Shatner's Captain James T. Kirk, and fans were obviously enticed by Star Trek Generations promising a thrilling cross-over between The Original Series and The Next Generation.

But the sure allure of seeing Kirk hang out with Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) was thoroughly undermined by the film's utterly limp, low-effort attempt to pass the torch between the two, by killing the former off in the most bizarre and unintentionally hilarious manner possible.
