1. Einhorn's Big Secret Is Obvious In German - Ace Ventura: Pet Detective

The 40 Year Old Virgin Steve Carell Jane Lynch
Warner Bros.

It's absolutely fair to say that Jim Carrey's iconic, career-making comedy Ace Ventura: Pet Detective hasn't aged all that well, with a subplot which many today perceive as deeply transphobic.

This pertains to the character of Lt. Lois Einhorn (Sean Young), who late in the film is revealed to have formerly lived as a man named Ray Kinkle, much to Ace's (Jim Carrey) disgust.

But any German speakers watching may have had an inside track to the big reveal, as the name "Einhorn" translates to "unicorn" in German, or more literally, "one horn."

It doesn't take much of a leap to unravel the innuendo, or deduce what horn her moniker might be referring to.
