10 Movie Directors Who Somehow Convinced Themselves They Can Act

5. Roman Polanski

Rush HourPreferred Acting Style: Forget The Past - Look At Me! It's near-on impossible to separate Roman Polanski from that now infamous incident from the '70s that people will never stop talking about, which means that it's probably best that the French director stays behind the camera for the most part - until, of course, when every few years or so he decides that he has an unrealised passion for being an actor, and takes small roles in movies like Rush Hour 3. What the f*ck, Roman Polanski? Roman Polanski has been acting occasionally for a good few years, though - he was the main character in his early horror spoof The Fearless Vampire Killers, and was even the guy who slashed Jack Nicholson's nose in Chinatown. But just because you do a scene with Jack Nicholson doesn't mean that you're anywhere near as good as Jack Nicholson, as witnessed by Polanski's mostly uneventful performances. Stay out of the light, pal.
