10 Movie Easter Eggs Added At The Last Minute
5. Stephen Shin - Aquaman
The Easter Egg
Randall Park has a tiny cameo in the main Aquaman movie as comic book character Stephen Shin, a genius marine biologist who also happens to be a conspiracy theorist.
Shin then re-appears in the film's mid-credits scene, rescuing a wounded Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) and agreeing to help him find Aquaman (Jason Momoa) in exchange for information about Atlantean technology.
The Story
Shin's scenes weren't shot during principal photography, and some some six months after the main shoot wrapped, director James Wan decided to add the character at the tail-end of reshoots, clearly in order to more decisively tease a sequel.
Though Shin's appearance was actually shot a good while before Aquaman hit cinemas, considering that the last few months of post-production were devoted almost exclusively to honing the visual effects - hence why the first trailer didn't drop until last July - Wan only barely got Shin in the movie before it was picture-locked.
