Incredibles 2 may have been a strong, sturdy sequel to its brilliant predecessor, though it did receive criticism from some fans for its howlingly predictable final plot twist, which was lit up on a neon signpost almost six months before the movie even hit cinemas.

Pixar revealed the characters of Evelyn and Winston Deavor (Catherine Keener and Bob Odenkirk) in early 2018, the sibling entrepreneurs who are trying to help the Incredibles rehabilitate their image as superheroes.

But within mere minutes of the character unveilings, Twitter users figured out that Evelyn Deavor = Evil Endeavor, confirming the film's big twist, that Evelyn was in fact the villainous Screenslaver, was being not-so-subtly hidden in plain sight.

Though the final film tries to mislead viewers by suggesting Evelyn's brother Winston will instead turn heel, few were convinced by it, due to both the film's transparent internal storytelling and the fact Pixar clearly gave the game away almost an entire half-year before Incredibles 2 was released.
