10 Movie Fan Theories EVERYONE Believed

The Theory

The Wayne Enterprises employee who attempts to blackmail Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale), Coleman Reese (Joshua Harto), was actually Batman's iconic adversary The Riddler.

Why Everyone Believed it

This came down to little more than Reese's name. After all, doesn't "Mr. Reese" sound quite a bit like "mysteries"? Mysteries being The Riddler's central preoccupation, of course.

Between that and the relatively tacked-on nature of Reese's role in the movie, fans believed that Christopher Nolan must've been setting the table for the character's return in the third film.

What Actually Happened

Absolutely nothing. Reese was a one-off character, which given the fact that he was played by a little-known character actor, Joshua Harto, probably should've indicated he wasn't really The Ridder.

It would've been a whole lot more believable if William Fichtner's bank manager character from the Joker (Heath Ledger) prologue turned out to be Edward Nygma, honestly.
