10 Movie Franchises That Didn't Care About HUGE Plot Holes
7. Avengers Assemble...When It's Convenient - The Marvel Cinematic Universe
Despite its overwhelming intricacy, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has a surprisingly low number of out-and-out plot holes, though there's certainly one prevailing lapse in logic that plagues almost every MCU movie that doesn't have "Avengers" in the title.
Whenever the [insert alien race here] attacks Earth during a superhero's solo movie, where the hell are the rest of The Avengers?
After the original Avengers movie opened up Pandora's Box by showing the beloved heroes working together as a well-oiled machine, every subsequent film without their presence left fans wondering quite what they were all up to.
Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) sure could've used some help in Iron Man 3, right? And Spider-Man (Tom Holland) definitely needed more of a hand in Spider-Man: Homecoming, no?
That's just two fairly grounded, Earth-set examples of The Avengers' absence, requiring fans to accept that a) some of the heroes are constantly off-world and b) it's a logistical issue for the franchise above all else (A-lister schedules and salary demands being what they are).
The problem is prevalent enough that Avengers: Endgame literally had to write Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) out of the movie's first two acts with the not-great, not-awful "I must go now, other planets need me" excuse.
It's not a plot hole that's ever likely to be resolved, because aside from the obvious scheduling and budgetary concerns with making every movie an Avengers movie, mainstream audiences clearly aren't that bothered by it.
