The Franchise: Between 2004 and 2011, HBO's hit take-down of Hollywood ran for 8 seasons and produced 96 episodes, and even when it ended on a fairly neatly tied-up note, there was much talk of bringing Vinny Chase's (Adrian Grenier) adventures to the big screen. How It Died: Entourage finally came to cinemas this past summer (along with a ridiculous glut of cameos, of course), but critics destroyed it for its perceived lack of necessity, while audiences didn't seem massively bothered either, with the film making just $44.6 million against $27.5 million. Sure, it's not a total financial disaster, but not the smash hit HBO were clearly hoping for either. Creator Doug Ellin nevertheless wants to get a sequel made, but with so little interest shown the first time around, it's next to impossible. Entourage didn't exactly end on a high note, but it's probably best to just let things lie rather than risk ruining fan goodwill any further.
