Though it's impossible to be entirely sure, The Dark Knight looks to have been at least partially responsible for the death of actor Heath Ledger - and in the wake of his accidental overdose during the post-production process of the second movie in Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight, his death suddenly became a reason to see the film: there were implications that playing the Joker actually made him crazy. There were rumours that Ledger went into isolation to prepare for his role as the Joker, of course, which makes sense when you actually see his transformative performance on-screen. In reality, his death took place long after filming had commenced, when Ledger was working on other things. Like this article? Agree or disagree with our choices here?
