10 Movie Heroes That Really Suck At Saving People

1. Roadblock Lets London Get Exploded - G.I. Joe: Retaliation (2013)

G.I. Joe: RetaliationParamount PicturesThe cinematic incarnation of Hasbro€™s G.I. Joe toy line possesses a terrible record for coming through when it matters most. In their first live action feature film, the Joes allow the Eiffel Tower to be completely destroyed, but this is just a prelude to the staggering level of heroic ineptitude on display in the sequel, G.I. Joe: Retaliation. In the feature, the Joes uncover a Cobra plot to launch a deadly weapon of mass destruction dubbed €˜Project Zeus€™. The Joes€™ heroic captain, Roadblock, leads them in a race against time to stop Cobra from activating Project Zeus. Unfortunately, he totally drops the ball, and Cobra manages to strike London. London has a population of over 8 million people, not to mention a wealth of history stretching back two millennia. It boasts numerous iconic locales like The Tower of London and Buckingham Palace. The Joes let Cobra incinerate it all in the blink of an eye in what has to constitute the most jaw-dropping example of heroic incompetence in cinematic history. Although the Joes eventually best Cobra, it€™s way too little too late. To make matters worse, the real American heroes don€™t even pause to reflect on the horrific level of human suffering they allowed Cobra to inflict on their watch. There's our list of some of the most notable heroic slip-ups. Were we unfair to these heroes? Are there even more glaring examples that we missed? Let us know in the comments.
