10 Movie Heroes Who Were Actually Suffering A Nervous Breakdown

1. Sarah Connor - Terminator 2: Judgement Day

Imagine being in Sarah Connor€™s position; you€™re chased by an unkillable machine, the love of your life is killed and you have the live with the knowledge that the baby he left you with will eventually lead mankind€™s last stand against evil robots. That€™s the sort of thing that would leave you awake at night with a glass of wine handy. Sarah didn€™t do that though; she trained herself and her son to prepare for the war ahead. Spouting tales of impending nuclear apocalypse is the kind of the thing that raises some red flags, so she was eventually committed. There she had to repeat the same story over and over to doctors, seeming crazier by the minute. And she probably started to doubt herself too, until another terminator coming to save her. There were also the nightmares about nuclear armageddon to deal with, ensuring that - while she was actually right - her mental state eventually broke down. Her breakdown appears to have righted itself somewhat when she nearly kills Skynet creator Miles Dyson in front of his family; she realises €“ with horror €“ that she€™s become just as much of a machine as the T-800. What a happy ending. Until the sequels arrived anyway. Can you think of any other heroes that were suffering from a mental breakdown throughout the film? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
