Jim Preston, artfully portrayed by the ever-sexy Chris Pratt, accidentally wakes up early on The Avalon, a sleeper ship transporting 5,000 colonists and 258 crew members in hibernation pods to the planet Homestead II. A journey that was supposed to last 120 years.
And what does he decide to do, having woken up 90 years early (and thus knowing that he’ll never reach Homestead II with his natural lifespan)? He decides to wake Aurora Lane inside of her pod after viewing Aurora's video file and falling in love with her humorous nature. 88 years later, the ship's crew awaken on schedule, shortly before arrival at Homestead II. They discover a small house amid lush flora in the ship's grand concourse area. The crew find Aurora's book depicting the wonderful life she and Jim had together on the Avalon. Pity. We can only but wonder what her life on Homestead II might have been like.
