10 Movie Heroes You Didn't Realise Probably Died Horrible Deaths

After escaping the ultra-secure home of Howard (John Goodman), Michelle (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) jumps from the pan to the fire when she's attacked by a creepy alien ship and looks done for. She's too feisty for that though and takes the ship down with an improvised Molotov Cocktail, killing the alien and escapes in a car.

...And she lived happily ever after, right?

But Wait...

Michelle's fate probably isn't that simple. When she escapes, she's given the choice to flee to Baton Rouge for safety or join the resistance fight in Houston. She chooses the latter and heads in the same direction as some big alien ships, because she can be useful in the fight.

Let's be honest though, Michelle is going to last precisely as long as everyone else does in this universe when they spend enough time in the company of the aliens. Cloverfield ends with everyone dead, The Cloverfield Paradox seems to imply global invasion and peril and Michelle getting lucky with one unexpected Molotov isn't any reason to think she won't be smushed very quickly in a real fight.
