9. Katniss Everdeen - The Hunger Games

The Lie Ostensibly Katniss is the hero of The Hunger Games saga, after stepping in to save her own sister from certain death in the gladiatorial games. Her survival through the first and second films result in her becoming a symbol of hope to the districts of Panem and enemy number one to the corrupt Capitol. The Reality Sure this sounds impressive, but take a second to actually think about how she behaves and you'll wonder if she's all that great. Throughout Mockingjay Part 1 she has the simple task of travelling around taking videos of destruction, and showing the public the reality of the government's regime. No fighting; all she has to do is appear reasonably interested in a few short films. Instead she picks the least opportune time to be a diva: 'I can't work under these conditions', 'the lighting isn't right'. She then causes two planes to crash into a hospital. Nice work. As the games progress, things are obviously difficult for her; she is, after all, thrust into a gladiatorial arena. However is this really an excuse for leading on Gale and Peta for the duration of each movie, failing to make a single proactive decision, and generally whining every time she's asked to do something, which will easily save millions of lives?
