This won't be the last time an MCU location pops up on this list and when your series has gone on to become the most successful collection of movies in history, a few of your filming locations were always bound to become tourism spots.

Yet, a film that depends so heavily on spectacular world bending visual effects - that are engineered in a studio - surprisingly has become responsible for a certain real life ancient city becoming radically popular with a new generation.

Doctor Strange is the Marvel origin story credited for enticing fans into visiting the fictional 'Kamar Taj' - or Kathmandu as it's known in the real world - and MCU die-hards making the trip have been met with more than just a few scenic film landmarks. The city is home to astounding architecture, multi-coloured street markets and spiritual temples galore, with many tour guides in the area now even offering a 'Doctor Strange tour' that hits a few of the sites where Strange was filmed.

Even though Kathmandu was devastated by a a huge earthquake shortly after the film was shot, fans are still encouraged to visit the famous locations and to respectfully embrace the Nepalese culture that is on display throughout the city.

If the ancient city wasn't immortalised already, passionate MCU fans have now ensured that Dr. Steven Strange's stomping grounds will forever be cherished.
