
One of the few extra features that I routinely watch on a DVD or Blu-Ray is the blooper reel, because in the case of a comedy, it can make things even more uproariously funny, and in the case of a serious drama, it can help lighten the load a little post-viewing. Though it's understandable why most bloopers are left on the cutting room floor, some are so good that they actually warrant inclusion in the final picture. As a result, almost all of the films picked are comedies - can you imagine how inappropriate leaving a blooper in Schindler's List would seem? - as these bloopers, though sometimes rough around the edges, would simply make the film even funnier. 10. Gonzo Impales Himself - The Muppet Christmas Carol
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSeeisFx8KU You couldn't have written this one better; Dr. Gonzo is swinging a hooked-chain around in the air, before it impales him in the head, causing him to play dead while Rizzo looks on in horror, exclaiming, "Good God! Medic! Nurse! Oh my God!". It's a brilliant example of actors adapting to the unexpected circumstances of the scene, and all the more impressive because they are, of course, puppeteers and voice actors. Edit out the background laughter and this would have been a hilarious addition to the movie. That said, it might not go over too well with parents, hoping for a harmless family Christmas film, and instead, they get characters stabbing themselves in the head with sharp, metal objects.
