10 Movie Mistakes That Should Have Stayed In

4. John McClane vs. A Door - Die Hard With A Vengeance

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=456iK2WffG0&t=0m14s It's hard to say that the Die Hard films are particularly serious as it is, and that's exactly why a little bit of added levity certainly wouldn't hurt. That's why this blooper in Die Hard with a Vengeance should have made the cut, as John McClane (Bruce Willis) frantically tries to smash a window on-board a train while attempting to take care of a bomb that's been planted on it. However, after gallantly trying to break the window with both his elbows and his feet, Willis concedes, "That's not breakaway glass" while director Paul Verhoeven pleads with him to cut. Though we don't need Willis' words, seeing McClane frantically smashing away at a window that won't break could have either been hilarious or dramatic depending on how Verhoeven edited it; given how easily McClane gets through the scene in the end, this could make the deck seem even more stacked against the intrepid hero. Plus, given how enthusiastically Willis attacks the window - believing it was breakable glass - it makes McClane look pretty badass.
