10 Movie “Mistakes” That Were Put There Intentionally

5. The Coordinates (The Fate Of The Furious)

Universal Pictures

Shortly after The Fate Of The Furious starts, Vin Diesel grumbles a few lines to Charlize Theron and then the camera cuts to an overhead shot of a wooded area, complete with coordinates in the bottom-left corner.

But should you be (weirdly) curious enough to enter these coordinates into an online map service, you'll find that they don't actually correspond to a wooded area near a sports field. Did the filmmakers just mess this up?

No they certainly did not - because the coordinates will take you to the Universal Studios theme park in California, a business run by the same studio who distributes the Fast franchise.

It's clear the filmmakers entered these coordinates as a little easter egg for fans - unless of course this is a massive ploy to get people to attend the theme park, in which case... there has to be a simpler way to achieve that goal.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
