5. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - Racist Robots
Much has been written about why Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is an unholy blight upon cinema - the excessive run-time, the bloated and padded sections without action, and the cringe-worthy humour involving Sam Witwicky's pot-ingesting mother - but it veers into downright offensive territory with this nasty pair of racial stereotypes, vomit-inducingly monikered Skids and Mudflap. Talking in ebonics and basically appearing as thoroughly boneheaded, uneducated sorts, it was promptly appropriated that they were offensive black stereotypes, while director Michael Bay quickly deflected blame, claiming that the voice actors and CG animators added those inflections in post-production. So, you had no say over it, then, Mike? I can't recommend watching this film without antacids; the brazen racism inherent each time they appear is sickening in of itself, and Bay was smart enough not to include them in the vastly superior third film following the vocal backlash.
