10 Movie Moments That Pissed Off Fanboys (That Were Actually Great)
6. Jurassic World’s Indominus Death
While most who went to see Colin Trevorrow’s long overdue addition to the Jurassic Park franchise, there was one scene in particular that pissed certain viewers off – the indomitable Indominus Rex’s death scene, and quite rightly so.
In its takedown scene the Indominus Rex, a hybrid dinosaur that the villainous Vic Hoskins wants to turn into a military weapon, a T-rex is lured into battle with the mutant beast and eventually overpowered but not before a trusty raptor joins the fight and helps the T-Rex lead Indominus to a lagoon whereupon a mosasaurus drags it to its watery death saving the day – a strangely buddy film-esque scene, or at least buddy species scene, solidified by an all too human moment of understanding between T-Rex and raptor.
But seriously, this is Jurassic Park – a wholly enjoyable but wholly implausible franchise built on recreating unrealistic dinosaurs from degraded dino DNA – so questioning a silly scene, and an awesome one at that, is silly in itself. Especially considering the most implausible aspect of Jurassic World is why on earth Claire doesn’t change into some more practical footwear than a pair of stiletto heels throughout the entire film.
