7. The Hallway Scene Was Nearly A Lot Gorier - M3GAN
Easily one of the most iconic visuals to tumble out of cinemas in 2023, the sight of the artificially intelligent murder doll known as M3GAN dancing her way down a hallway mid-kill spree was both horrifying and hilarious.
And while the unrated version of this particular sequence definitely took things up a notch, with Funki CEO David being horrifically pierced through the stomach before his blood splattered all over his assistant in the elevator, the original plan was even more extreme.
As revealed by director Gerard Johnstone in a recent conversation with Empire Magazine (via Yahoo), when listening to the "Walk the Night" song by Skatt Bros heard throughout the eventual finished scene, he originally wrote a few more savage moments into this specific massacre.
A number of other Funki employees were originally going to be cut down by the relentless doll during her rampage, with those figures each popping out of doorways to see what was going down, only to graphically lose their heads shortly after.
Due to scheduling concerns, though, these rather bloody additional ends weren't actually shot.
There's surely room for a few decapitations in Megan 2.0, though, right?
