8. The Thunderbolts - Black Widow
Not only will Black Widow become just the MCU's second ever female led movie, it will be unique in that the main character is already dead. Natasha sacrificed herself for the Soul Stone in Avengers: Endgame, and though we know this movie will explore what she was up to between Civil War and Infinity War, its connections to the wider universe will certainly run deeper than this.
If there's one thing we've learned from watching 23 movies through more than a decade of the MCU, it's that there are no stand alone movies. Each entry in the franchise is a puzzle piece in a much bigger story, and as the opening act of the long awaited Phase Four, it's hard to imagine Black Widow not connecting to anything other than Natasha's story.
One way the movie could affect the future of the franchise is by introducing the long-rumoured Thunderbolts. The team, almost Marvel's answer to the Suicide Squad, has had many iterations throughout the comics, but the fact that Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross will make an appearance in Black Widow suggests that they will be coming in 2021.
Taskmaster and Melina Vostokoff both also have ties to the team in the comics, so it seems very likely the Thunderbolts will debut in 2021. Even if it is just a part of a post credit scene, this needs to happen.
