10 Movie Moments Which Aren’t What They Seem

3. Mary Poppins Returns - Bathtub Slide

Sometimes what you thought would be a fairly simple filming solution turns out be something far more complex and just plain old fun.

During Mary Poppins Returns, Emily Blunt's titular character performs a song called 'Can You Imagine That?' The song takes a turn when herself and the three Banks children she's looking after dive into a bathtub which leads to an underwater world.

Surely, the logical thing to do here would be to just cut to another shot as soon as a child or Poppins has submerged themselves under the bubbles? Well, logic flew out the window on this occassion and instead we got the trio of Banks youngsters and Poppins shooting down a makeshift slide which had been built underneath the tub.

This definitely helped create the feeling of the characters genuinely surging into a new world, but never in a million years would you have suspected that the set had been put on scaffolding in order to create enough space for a sliding stunt to be performed safely.

In true Mary Poppins form, there was definitely more than meets the eye when it came to this bath time.
