For moviegoers who are less savvy with Marvel comics, it would be hardly surprising if this forgettable foe slipped from their minds entirely. It sure wasn't given an ounce of justice in Rise of the Silver Surfer, appearing as little more than a big, all-consuming space cloud.

Galactus, the Devourer of Worlds, is traditionally a huge humanoid being with a trademark winged helmet. And although this form doesn't show up in the 2007 movie, the more eagle-eyed among you may have noticed one or two little hints of the godlike being's signature headwear.

It first appears as a shadow creeping over the planet Saturn, right before the cloud engulfs it. Then, at the end, when the Silver Surfer flies into the heart of the 'Destroyer', the energy writhing inside of it has a veeery familiar shape.

Maybe they're just Easter eggs to appease the Marvel purists. But maybe, they were meant to represent a foreshadowing of Galactus' true form, possibly to show up in a future instalment of the series.

Unfortunately, with that series at an end, there's no way of ever knowing.
