10 Movie Monsters You Never Get To See Fully

6. Sarlacc - Star Wars Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi (1983)

Captured by Jabba the Hutt in Return of the Jedi, Luke Skywalker, along with Han Solo, Lando Calrissian and Princess Leia, are to be executed by means of jumping into the Great Pit of Carkoon, housing an ancient creature that digests its victims over a thousand years.

The original theatrical run of the movie presented the Sarlacc as nothing more than a pit of fleshy spikes in the middle of the desert. Subsequent home editions added tentacles and a beak-like mouth to the monster, but even then, you have to wonder just how much more there is to this immobile terror.

How far underground does it go? Could it stretch down for miles beyond what we see in the film, or is the pit itself more of a danger than the actual creature? Only way to know for sure is to take the plunge down into the Pit of Carkoon and see for yourself - but I wouldn't recommend it.

Much safer to ask a certain bounty hunter who's seen the thing up close, right?
